We have done our best to answer all of the questions or concerns that you may have before entrusting your pet with Soho Hound. If your question isn’t answered in our FAQ’s please do not hesitate to contact us!

I am interested in Soho Hound, how do I get started?

To get started you can contact Soho Hound at 727.755.1120 or email us at pets@soho-hound.com. Fill out the Pet Profile on our Profile tab. We will arrange a convenient time to meet you and your pet and discuss our services, review our process and your needs, and select a start date.

What services do you provide?

Soho Hound provides a variety of services to meet your pet’s needs. We provide dog walking, overnight pet-sitting at your home, exercise programs, baths, and pet transportation. Take a look at our Rates tab. We offer our services for clients located in the following Tampa areas: Channelside, Davis Islands, Harbour Island, Soho, Hyde Park & Palma Ceia. Don’t see your location listed? No worries, reach out to us and we will work hard to accommodate your needs. (Additional fees will apply to visits out of our regular service areas.)

How does your sitting service work?

We will stay in your home with your pet to keep them as happy as possible in their everyday environment. Updates and pictures will be sent to let you know how your pets are doing. We make sure to keep your pet on schedule and happy in your absence.

What do you mean by 'professional' dog walking?

Soho Hound’s care of your dog is our main focus, not a hobby or pastime. We are insured, qualified, skilled and certified so that you can rest assured that your pet is being walked safely and effectively. We have an experienced, and professional team who take pride in the Soho Hound name. All staff members are trained to be able to care for each and every client. This way, we can send any of our employees to complete a pet service.

Do you provide off leash walks?

Soho Hound does not provide off leash walks as the safety of your pet is our utmost concern. We believe the safest way to walk your dog is on leash. Of course, play time, fetch, and all kinds of games are always an option for your backyard or at home.

How long does the visit last?

As the pet owner you can select the length of the walk for you dog. For example, if you select a 30 minute visit the walk will be 25 minutes with the remainder of the time devoted to freshening the water bowl, feeding if applicable and making sure the dog is comfortable and secure. If we are visiting your cat, we will change litter, feed, give fresh water, and always leave time for play!

How much do you charge?

Prices vary depending on the service(s) the pet owner selects. Please refer to our Rates tab.

Do you have any references?

Of course! We have a growing network of happy customers that would gladly share their experiences with you. References are available on request to support the character, motivation and reliability of our services. We hope that you can be a reference for us in the future, too! What do you do in case of bad weather?

In the case of inclement weather such as heavy rain storms Soho Hound will assess the appropriateness of a walk for your individual dog and keep you posted. If the walk is not advisable, we will ensure your dog gets out for a potty break and will offer the option of playing with them for the remainder of the visit.

If serious weather (such as tropical storms or tornado warnings) pose any danger to your pet or our staff, Soho Hound reserves the right to cancel walks.

Strenuous activities (such as our exercise runs) will also be reviewed based on the heat index and your pet’s needs. We will give as much notice as possible in these cases for you to make plans accordingly.

How does Soho Hound retrieve and return my keys?

We will pick up keys at the initial meet and greet. Please have 3 sets of keys ready for us. If you wish for us to return them, we will either leave them under the mat or a secret hiding spot when all services are complete. We can also drop them off at a later date if you so wish. Also, if your home requires a fob or code to gain access to grounds, we will need that as well. Your individual needs will be discussed at the initial complimentary meet and greet.

Where are my keys kept?

All clients’ keys are kept in a lockbox near the preferred entrance to your home OR locked & secured in a safe place when not in use. The keys are never labeled with the client’s address.

Do you accept last minute bookings?

Our goal is to be as flexible and available as possible, however each situation is case-by-case based on our schedule. But don’t hesitate to reach out to us as we have a team that can assist us in doing our best to meet your needs. If you book a service the day of, a $5 surcharge will be added onto the service.

How much notice is needed to cancel a service?

For all services, Soho Hound requires a 24-hour cancellation notice. A fee equal to 50% of all scheduled services will be charged for same day cancellations. For traveling clients, a fee of 50% of all services booked will be charged for any cancellation after a confirmed booking.

How will I know how my pet is doing while I am away?

Soho Hound provides all clients with updates using a GPS tracking system that will e-mail a report card of the visit and pictures after each service. In case of any emergencies, we will call you immediately. If we are unable to get in touch with you, we will call the emergency contact you provided on your pet profile.

What happens if my pet becomes ill while I am away?

If your pet becomes ill while you are away, Soho Hound will contact you immediately. In a case where both you and your emergency contact are unavailable, we reserve the right to seek medical care for your pet. It is at the pet owner’s expense if immediate medical attention is needed.

My pet needs medicine. Are you able to provide this service?

Soho Hound will provide pills and drops but will not give medicine by injection.

What types of payment methods do you accept?

Soho Hound accepts credit or debit card payments through Paypal — please click on our Pay tab to submit. We also accept cash and checks made out to Soho Hound. Bi-weekly invoices will be sent via email for consistent weekly clients. For travel clients, an invoice will be sent via email before the service is completed, allowing payment before departure. Final due date for all invoices is ONE WEEK from date of invoice. A late payment fee of $5 per week will be applied after due date.
